Buru is a Tampere-based techno project from Finland, formed by two brothers, Ilkka and Mikko Ihalainen. Their productions have been noted both in Finland and internationally. During the past three years, the duo has been playing both live and dj-sets, in addition to grinding at their homestudio-basements for a string of releases. Buru has been affiliated locally with Swäg and Grillin´-party collectives and they host dj-night “Sivuääni” (Finnish for "Murmur"). They have released several techno EPs by labels such as Konstruktiv, Kram Records and Cräk Audio. Their latest releases have been gaining support from Samuli Kemppi, Rekord 61, Kitkatone, Rolando, Unbalance, Orbiting Giants, Answer Code Request, DJ Shiva and many others. Buru's sound has been described as “nasty grooves combined with hard enough low end to give you the bloody knuckles, -warehouse attitude with Tampere flavour” (Tampere Hotline). “Finnish techno duo BuRu — brothers Mikko and Ilkka — craft the sort of deep techno the world could use a lot more of.
