Experimental DJ Producer otherwise known as Will Burns has no boundaries or limits to his musical wisdom, mixing a diverse eclectic sound of laid back grooves up tempo house beats with soul and disco influence.
Burnsy started djing at 16 after buying a second hand belt drive turntables from the freeads, this is where the passion all began soon playing at school parties followed by weddings bars and clubs. Collecting music became an addiction visiting record stores in London and the home counties in search of the biggest records.
After studying media at Bournemouth University where he would often dj at the Opera House, Will landed an intern job at Ministry of Sound radio followed by BBC Radio One where he would work alongside some of the worlds best DJs.
DJing soon became a full time job playing sets at clubs across the UK every week most notably Turnmills, The Cross and Pacha in London.
Burnsy set up his own recording studio in Woking Surrey that was once ran by Peace Division, he soon started releasing music under his alias Dirty Retro which he named after his retro house club night in South beach Miami.
In 2005 after 3 years of running his studio, Will purchased a nightclub/bar which he named Remix, he ran club nights here and booked guests DJs including Terry Farley, Bobby & Steve, Norman Jay, Andy Baxter as well as many other well known house DJs.
4 years running a bar and touring the world as a DJ playing sets in Thailand China Japan Australia North & South America, after several successful releases under his Dirty Retro alias came festival appearances in 2011 at Glastonbury and Bestival.
A monthly resident dj at Big Chill Bar Brick Lane for 7 years.
You could hear Will's weekly Dirty Retro radio show on Point Blank 108fm followed by Kane 103.7FM where he hosted a weekly radio show for 6 years.
2020 after taking a break from performing as a dj, Will began to concentrate purely on music production and running his label Dirty Retro Records and releasing music under his old school nickname Burnsy.
Now based in-between Ibiza London and Florida, Burnsy hosts a weekly radio show on Ibiza's legendary Mambo Radio every Tuesday and is currently releasing new music collaborating with vocalists Barbara Tucker, Pato Banton. Album due out for release summer 2021.
