Miro Lopasso, aka Boyca, is a hard-hitting Techno naturalist: as a queer, Swiss-born DJ, producer, and Berlin transplant, Boyca’s convulsing and maximalist productions channel the transformative and liberating dancefloor hypnotism he experienced into relentless Techno totems with industrial undercurrents—strobe-lit, sweat-drenched, and with a commanding sense of raw physicality. Debuting on Dutch label Mord under his given name with mangled, slow-burning blowout Beneath in 2015, Boyca has since moved to recast his throttling industrial core into a functional, sexy, and floor-driven framework. The result is an enrapturing blend of shuddering low-end and complex groove structures that cycle through frenzied drum machine sequences, crushed loops, and heaving spaced-out atmospheres. Ass It!
