Their story started in 2016 and has roots in the taboo techno basements of the Northeast and the clandestine desert raves of the West Coast of the US. What binds them is a common passion for music that explores the evolution of darkness. Bonsai’s progression from fans and clubgoers to founders and creators was natural. They gradually expanded their reach through working with Fortitude Collective, an LA-based independent producer collective, and playing notable venues and events, such as Flash D.C., El Techo, Party On The Potomac (Washington D.C.), Schimanski (NYC), Fortitude Collective beach and warehouse parties (Los Angeles) and Spin Night Club (San Diego). Bonsai take the listeners on a self-exploratory pilgrimage, from the rolling waves of progressive house and into the vast, mysterious and formidable world of melodic dark techno.
