Bongoat
Biografía
Born in Germany to Dutch parents, Bongoat combines the best of both musical worlds to shape a hard and fast paced electronic music sound. Shifting through all genres that feature heavy low-end and a danceable rhythm, his sets and performances consist of hours-long relentless energy and euphoria, with unexpected sonical twists and turns.
Based in Amsterdam, Bongoat founded the event series Tempo Marauders together with his friend and fellow DJ DAX-I, which is in the process of becoming a recognized and core name in the underground electronic music scene of the city.
Bongoat fell in love with making music at age 14, originally starting with rapping in English, then transitioning to German rap and digital hiphop production. Constantly rediscovering his musical identity, he fell in love with the German hard styles of techno in the rave scene, and brought that influence into his newly found love for selecting and playing tunes to an audience. Though you will mostly hear him play 145 bpm+ music with club rhythms, his headphones still tend to be hiphop and rap all the way. In his productions, the mentality tends to be "if it sounds good, it is good", cutting through genres in attempts to stimulate his brain without too many theoretical frameworks on the production.
With a constantly changing music taste, track selections become eclectic out of the idea that variety in sound can provide the most meaningful and whole final product in a dj-set. Deep cuts of genres that can be considered opposite ends of the musical spectrum are always found. Anyone who sees Bongoat live can expect high-energy, ridiculous blends and creative beat drops.
