Eduardo Mateo day by day became a must for any electronic music lover, after more than 14 years of searching and exporting his sound nationally and internationally, he transformed himself into an entity that respects the code of conduct of our scene. He started playing at raves and underground venues around Barcelona and Girona where he met bands such as Tasmaniac, Vurt Sound System and other miscellaneous of that time. Alter his first residency at Rockstore, Elfo started mixing different styles such as:Electro, Acid, Ambient etc., giving birth to his first eclectic and self taught tunes. Cyberian Club was what truly launched his artistic career when he bacame a needed resident there. Elfo is constantly evolving from a musical and technical point of view. He is a blend between Techno, Minimal and Tech-house. All this brought him to his next residency in the Woman Chevalier’s O2 venue, where he had the role of artistic director. He founded a production company during that period that he called ‘Factoria Electronica of Barcelona’ with which he set up some stable relationship with the international scene. He seeked new horizons in 2001 when he started calling himself by a different name: Bizzare DJ, looking for weaker frenquency and by transmitting his soul and sound in a more sensual manner. He therefore explored some other deeper style like minimal house and deep techno. This latest change drove him to the formation of a new entity ‘Bizzare Intelligent Entertainment’: An event and managing agency that he built up with Otto Zutz Club and Salavador Perez. Otto Zutz club became The Edge Club, City Hall and The Kasbah after a Pecados Capitales party whereas Bizzare Dj is the resident and artistic director over there. He developed the musical concept with the help of friends such as Steve Bug and other collaborators like Ralph Lawson. He shared his booth every Thursday with ‘The edge selectars’ Nigel Hayes (Soma/Guidance?U.K) Murray Richardson (20:20 visions/Low Pressings/U.K), 2D2 (Sonar 2002) and other artists from the Poker Flat Recording Label. Additionally some other artists where invited. He also was resident at ‘la Cova’ like with Elfo he showed his darkside, playing a strictly Techno sound. With such a thought forward and specific musical perception he became a part of the Calambre organization, working on different radio and TV programs. The year 2004 made some change in Bizzare Dj’s life. He finished his relationship with Otto Zutz and Bizzare I.E and established himself as an independent producer with his friend and partner Salvador Perez. He also starts a new residency in the summer of 2005 in the mythical club ‘Palm Beach’, which gave him the occasion to share the booth with Dj Sonic and Christian Borau as a resident. You could see him at ‘Palm Beach’ club all summer long playing deep minimal or aggressive techno. He actually combined his activities in numerous clubs with his artists’ agent job that he first developed with Decode Muzique and ZENbooking (www.zenbooking.com), but now he has his own agency, MY TIME MUSIC MANAGEMENT, where he will develop his work as music agent. Moreover, he starts to produce his deepest thoughts in his studio from where some tracks shall soon be discovered by the electronic scene.
