Bios Mod is the project led by DJ and producer Agustin Alvarez, who is currently based in Barcelona since 2019 but originally hails from Santiago del Estero (Argentina), where he lays the foundations of his sound from an early age. Sonic experimentation defines his adolescence, and by the age of 18, he is already bringing his first productions to life. Quickly, Bios Mod establishes himself as a key figure in the local underground scene of his country, thanks to his residencies at clubs such as Chester, B3, and Flop Disco, which lead him to national recognition and the opportunity to share stages with artists like Quivver, Ezequiel Arias, and Mariano Trocca. His eclectic musical tastes reflect a broad background that spans from funk and disco to early 2000s trance. A fascination with sci-fi aesthetics, fueled by cinema and literature, sets the stage for the sound crafted in Bios Mod's productions. Melodies, rhythms, and textures blend expressively, creating a narrative where machines come to life and express their emotions. In the EPs The Hole (Human Music, 2020) and Space Cats (Trippy Code, 2020), Bios Mod’s sound is hypnotic and enigmatic, with progressive structures and a dystopian flavor. Living The Dream (Oxytech Limited, 2020) and A Place Called Home (Out Records, 2022) define the transition from dystopia to utopia, where machines create dreamlike landscapes and engage in the sonic and rhythmic experimentation of breakbeat.
