Gustavo Arruda Franco (he/they), aka BiLatinBby, is a Brazilian DJ currently based in Chicago. They come from Central Brazil's countryside, where powerful automotive sound-systems dominate town squares and inspired their love for electronic music. In 2017, they immigrated to the U.S. after receiving a full-ride scholarship to study social sciences. Outside of working in public health communications, Gustavo DJs as BiLatinBby. The name is a nod to an iconic gay Latine porn studio from the 2000s, both celebrating and challenging public displays of queer sexuality. Their DJing style blends references from Brazil and Chicago, going from deep house and Latine folk music outdoors, to acid house and baile funk at a cruisy rave.
