Highly inspired by the Broken Beat movement in West London in the early 2000s, Ben Mono never stopped developing his own beats and sound-structures ever since. Driven by the impact and the unique quality of breakbeats and more sophisticaed rhythms his musical research never stopped over the past 2 decades, during which he kept reinventing himself a few times. His goal always was to stilistically settle down in that somewhat unidentified terrain between the Berlin scene and that place where most of his personal heroes came from: the UK. Having his first Drum & bass records coming out in 1998 (Force & Paul „Breakbeat Mutations“) and his first UKG release as Sonic Surfer („Beta Bay“) in 2002 it was time now for a rewind and to make it back to square one. Running his infamous Operate nights together with TMSN in Berlin for the past 8 years, Ben Mono became one of the main representatives of that new wave of UKG artists in Germany.
