Ben Fhurst is co-owner and manager of Lucky Life Music, being responsible for the musical direction of the label, finding new talent and managing the day to day running of the business. Ben hails from Perth, Western Australia and started DJ-ing in 1999. He reached the Bedroom to Bigroom DJ competition finals within a year and took up residencies at Spirit Soundbar and Redheads before moving to London in 2005. Whilst in London, Ben worked as a full time commercial lawyer whilst managing to present a weekly show on World Dance FM and continuing to rack up the hours on the DJ circuit. Ben’s first residency in London was at the Firehouse and he became a resident for Lucky Life in 2008. He has played at almost every Lucky Life Party since, including sets at Pacha London, Ministry of Sound and the SW4 Official Afterparty. Ben has also played sets in London for countless other promoters and venues including Two Tribes, Babies, the Whitehouse, Gigalum, Indigo, Artesian Well and numerous boat parties on the Thames. During 2013, Ben had an epiphany on a boat party in Ibiza. This resulted in him quitting his job and waving goodbye to the corporate world. He moved to Ibiza at the start of 2014 and started the Lucky Life Music label. Both Ben and the label had an unbelievable first summer season in Ibiza. The label was launched on the 5 Star Catamaran and held events at Space, Pikes Hotel and secret Villa locations. In April of 2015 and May of 2016, Lucky Life Music took over the fabled Pacha Ibiza and smashed it, Ben played the closing set on the first night and b2b with long time Ibiza Pacha resident, Graham Sahara, on the second. Ben also travels to Amsterdam to play on a boat party on King’s Day for the last 3 years and the label took over Gigalum in London during August 2015 and will do so again this year in August. Lucky Life Music continues to grow, with the 20 tracks now released and 9 artists on board. Next for the label is the Lucky Nights series where we embrace the true techno spirit into the label. Ben Fhurst’s debut release “35” comes out on the first of this series on 7 July 2016. Ben has played at Space (for We Love and Carl Cox’s Music is Revolution party), Pikes Hotel, Eden, Play 2, Café Del Mar (including a monthly residency during the summer of 2016), Savannah, Sands, Sunrise Bar, Malanga Café, Pacha, Desire of Ibiza, Hotel Es Vive and Boutique Hostal Salinas since arriving in Ibiza and produces and presents the weekly Lucky Life Music show for Pioneer DJ Radio broadcast each week on Thursdays from 6pm C.E.T.
