Ben Daddy
Biografía
The 28 year old East Yorks native has been honing his craft since his early teens, his insatiable appetite for all things music fuelling an expansive arsenal traversing Acid, Disco, Electro, House, Techno and beyond. His time at Hull university brought a string of stellar support sets as a regular Crystal Clear resident, holding his own around the likes of Big Miz, Bobby Analog, Cinthie, Cromby, Jordan Nocturne, Shy FX & Wookie, before taking the reigns as president of the acclaimed DJ society in 2019/2020 - a collective once home to the now household names of Blawan, Finn & I. JORDAN. Ben’s impressive reign saw the likes of Chloe Robinson, Cromby & Sir Hiss take the Humber by storm.
A move to the North West saw Ben co-founding Interpolate Records in 2020, a label and event imprint focused on amplifying emerging talents in electronic music - most notably a debut EP from Sisu Crew’s hot prospect Shauna (picked up by Jaguar on BBC Radio 1) and a breakout effort from Dulha (supported by Madam X, Sir Hiss, Meg Ward and Alexis). Ben’s brief stint in Manchester brought a killer debut event with Mixtress alongside 0161 imprint Noire State, followed by a sell-out knees up at XLR with Arma. He’s been no stranger to the community radio scene either, showcasing his talents on Alto Radio, Komrad & Liverpool-based Svara.
Now found between Leeds and his native Hull, Ben Daddy has crafted a well-deserved reputation for his adventurous sets, displaying a stubborn antipathy to tempo and genre boundaries. Most recently, the Residents Association stalwart helped bring the noise to Hull’s fledgling ‘alt pop dance’ night Sticky, followed by an emphatic headline performance on the Residents’ stage at Humber Street Sesh 2025. Alongside a recent support warm up set for Bolden. at a sold out Headrow House in Leeds.
A natural ability for setting alight both basement rave and big-room club alike, Ben Daddy should absolutely be considered an essential contributor to Hull’s dance scene and a ‘DJs favourite DJ’ you ought to be paying attention to.
