Making her debut at South Africa’s ‘AfrikaBurn’ in 2017 before going on to perform at Nevada’s ‘Burning Man’ a year later. She became a staple artist of London’s Burning Man community soon after. Decompression parties and grassroots fundraisers were where she earned her stripes, before honing her craft across the capital’s club circuit in late 2019 at venues such as Mick’s Garage, The Steelyard and many more besides. 2019 and early 2020 also saw her debut in places like Berlin, Turkey and Mykonos further establishing Bambi’s presence in the international music scene. These experiences helped mould Bambi Rambo's sound into what it is today. It feels at home in all environments: whether that be an urban warehouse, the Saharan-like backdrop of Egypt’s Freedom festival or the ethereal playa of Burning Man. Regardless of the setting, her ethos behind the decks remains the same: to take those listening on a musical journey and deliver a deeply pleasurable experience in the process. Part of this experience lies in the inclusivity of Bambi Rambo's style. It reflects who she is as a person: open and accepting. Her desire to make people dance and share experiences together allows for spontaneity in her track selections. She isn’t afraid to take risks, by surprising the dancefloor with some vintage Prince or an ‘80s acid house anthem. Fluidly gliding between genres, she meanders through all feelings of the human psyche on her way. Poignant cuts merge into feelings of elation; harmonic offerings give way to electrified dancing, as the lines of tech, melodica, afro, house and techno become skilfully blurred to result in an infectious energy on the night. All of this can be attributed to Bambi's childhood. Her upbringing was steeped in musical heritage. She trained as a classical flutist from an early age, opting to drop the instrument for electronic music in her twenties. Such a transition should come as no surprise: her parents had been creating mixtapes since her childhood, mixing on vinyl then burning them onto CD for home-listening. It was here that a fire started to burn in Bambi, one that continues to this day. Being of service is at the heart of Bambi Rambo's output. She channels her past moments into the night’s soundtrack, transporting those around her to a place of pure emotion. With a monthly residency on London radio station Bloop lined up and the re-opening of clubs soon to take place, 2021 looks set to be a standout year for her. “For me, there is nothing more rewarding than making people have a special time. Making them dance, connect and feel in a way that imprints the memory in their mind. It’s why I love music - it helps us reach emotions that we can’t normally express.”
