Balou (Javier Miquel) is a DJ, music curator, and writer. His careful selection and sonic storytelling have taken him to clubs, festivals, listening rooms, and art spaces across Europe and Asia. His sets focus on making bodies move, hearts feel, and minds wander. On the dancefloor, he draws from the raw spirit of the ’90s: deep grooves unearthed from the vaults of early Chicago house, UK breaks, Detroit techno, trance, and tribal psychedelia. In listening settings, he drifts through ambient, downtempo, jazz, dub, and leftfield oddities. The out-of-the-club side of his artistry is also expressed through his collective echo-echo, a multidisciplinary collective of three friends exploring music and sound for introspective and therapeutic purposes.
