Co-founding and releasing on his own personal record label - Dolphin Flips Records - with fellow rising star suki was just the tip of the iceberg, as BADEO’s extensive involvement with esteemed Melbourne based collectives ‘Equinox Events’ and ‘:affinity’ has seen him play an important part in the progression of the deep minimal scene throughout Melbourne. BADEOs production exploits have quickly began to appear on releases from notable labels not limited to Blind Vision Records, Rendr Records & Airtime records. At just 22 years old, BADEO is showing that his innate talents for production negate the need for years of experience, as his tracks continue to rapidly ascend the charts. Spending a great proportion of his youth teaching himself how to play multiple instruments, BADEO showed early signs of an intrinsic talent for all things musical. It’s something he continues to utilise alongside DJing & producing, as a member of surf-rock trio ‘The Eyeballers’. This key relationship with the more traditional sects of music enables him to harness authentic, distinctive sounds for his production arsenal. BADEO’s early sonic interests were directed towards both traditional and experimentally ambient hip hop beats, along with the dubbier aspects of techno music. The unique combination of all of these factors produced a love for the dubby, deep house sounds of iconic artists such as Harrison BDP and Janeret - before finally finding his niche in deep minimal house.
