co-founder of iconic Montréal queer club nite/rave series Unikorn, Awwful is known locally for their hi-octane DJ sets that blend eurodance, hyperpop and deconstructed club music with bubblegum pop hits ☆ their work as a producer, songwriter and vocalist is decidedly more introspective, borrowing textures and tones from the club to craft songs from the heart. their 2020 debut Affection drew inspiration from classic synthpop & ethereal electronica, sounds that were further explored on their shoegazey 2021 single Architecture ☆ in 2022, Awwful was the supporting act for Alice Glass at her Montréal stop on the Traumabond tour. in 2023, they opened for Cecile Believe as part of the Club SAT series.
