Nicolás Avellaneda, known artistically as Avenix, is a Brazilian producer, DJ, and creative director whose approach to electronic music is deeply rooted in the documentation and revitalization of club culture. With a career spanning over a decade, his journey serves as a bridge between the raw energy of South America and the refined discipline of the European underground. As a producer and DJ, Avenix leans into a sophisticated mix of House and Minimal. Whether he’s playing a terrace at sunset or a darkened club, his sets are informed by years of studying the dancefloor from both sides of the booth. Nicolás got his start in 2011 in Argentina, learning the ropes of the industry at major spots like Pacha and Crobar. Seeking a deeper connection to the global scene, he moved to the Netherlands at 18. While studying media, he spent his time behind the scenes at legendary venues like Trouw, Doka, and Now&Wow, as well as working on the ground at festivals like Awakenings, Sziget, and Free Your Mind. At 23, he moved to Helsinki, Finland, where he became a regular fixture in the local nightlife, helping the scene grow through his work with Summer Sauna, Milliklubi, and Mummotunneli. These years abroad transformed him into a versatile selector and journalist of the scene. SOM Social Club & SOMBUZIOS After returning to Brazil during the pandemicm Nicolas began working in the local scene at Silk Beach Club, Movida Bar, Privilege, TAWA and other local events. Nicolás has now returned to Buenos Aires with a fresh vision. His main focus is SOMBUZIOS (SOM), a platform that combines a web radio, music label, and his signature event series: SOM Social Club. Currently based in Palermo, Nicolás is bridging the gap between the relaxed, coastal "sunset" vibe of Brazil and the sharp, urban energy of the Buenos Aires underground. Whether it's through his own sets or his curation at Niceto Bar, he is dedicated to documenting the scene through live-streamed sessions and building a community for those who value sound quality above all else.
