Asha originally found her footing in Montreal through organizing community nights called Unknown Artist at Barbossa which served to debut new artists. Following her own debut as part of the duo Runa and Asha, the pair quickly found themselves booked across Montreals various music scenes. Playing both as part of the duo and individually, Asha has since played for events such as Homegrown Harvest, SAT, and Piknic, playing with and opening for various artists including Aurora Halal and 1Morning. Though Runa and Asha’s sound might be summed up by some under the umbrella of bass music, it works to cut across genres and cultures sparking conversation between different musical scenes. As well as her role behind the decks, Asha continues to organize, primarily with Unknown Artist and Ether, a night focusing on bass heavy sounds, the intersection of visual and musical experiences, and community building through dance floor spaces.
