Raised and shaped by the sounds of the Iranian diaspora and Midwest United States; the now Brooklyn-based DJ, when not acting as one of the local scene’s postmodern cultural critics, is a selector who plays bravely with italo, EBM, electro and techno to combine and create endlessly driving, one-of-a-kind sets. With his unique mix of favored genres, Arvin’s performances are like the classic hero’s journey wreathed in 1980’s neon: indulgent synths dance with platinum kicks and darker bass lines to forge a path of emotionally moving musical peaks and valleys. Arvin is also the curator of the Harekat party series in Brooklyn, as well as a resident/curator for the Like + Subscribe parties at Bossa Nova Civic Club. Whether DJing, making memes, or hosting, Arvin T looks to leave a positive mark on the New York landscape.
