April is one of the most charming DJs in the business. A musical ambassador and a veteran of tech-house, a lover of techno, a dance music pioneer, Queen of Puretek – you name it, April’s been there and done it, never losing sight of her passions. Chiang Mai-based prodigy, April, has carved out a reputation as one of the most celebrated tech-house acts to ever come out of Thailand. Her sound flows between progressive house, tech-house, deep house, and her trademark is bouncy rock-the-dance floor tunes. It was at the age of 19 that April bought a set of CDJs and began working as a mobile DJ. Electro house was the first music that captivated her but April eventually moved on to playing tunes with rare grooves. April’s ability set the tempo of the crowd to generate the energy of a true party vibe has etched out her name in Chiang Mai’s club scene as a distinguished DJ. Born in 1987, April started her musical career in her late teens as a progressive and electro house DJ. April then started a new found love for break beats, nu disco, deep house, tech house, techno, and liquid drum & bass. In 2004, Casper and April initiated a project called ‘Puretek’ which transformed into an underground music label based in Chiang Mai, Thailand, managed by party legend, Andrew Commins. The project evolved into another sub-label and music event called WU (Wualai Underground) that involved several brilliant local and international artists: ‘Eddy SKT (THA), April (THA), Sugar K (THA), Kittikun (THA), Amata (THA), Hellblueboi (THA), Khun David (FRA), Jeremy (USA), Bezt (THA), and Casper (THA)’. Puretek and Wualai Underground were amongst the first to introduce unparalleled performances of underground hip-hop, break beats, tech house, deep house, and techno to the Chiang Mai underground music scene. Along the years, April has played alongside international artists: Nakadia, James What, Fish Monger, Mendi Indigo, Me & Her, Dan Buri, and Superstar Panda. Her musical tour of Thailand has seen her grace the likes of Smile Party, Pai Bang, Ibiza Party Krabii, Twilight Music Park, and The Edge. April’s resident clubs in Chiang Mai are Babylon Bar, The Edge, Sangdee Gallery, and Wualai Underground where she has hosted a wide array of parties. With an impressive line up including: The Lounge of Warm Up, CM Bar, Zoe, CMBC, Freedom Bar, Sangdee Gallery, Mai Space, Rooftop, and Lucky Bar, she has played at every major club in Chiang Mai. April is also a regular at major music events such as: Smile Party, Plunge by Le Meridian, Don’t Cry, Joob Joob, Chunky, Twilight Music Park, Wualai Underground, Puretek, and Inferno Festival. April’s music is best described as bouncy, full of energy, a total dance floor ground shaker.
