Alex is a man that appreciates dark, eccentric, and driving music. Having a deep respect for influences as wide as Joris Voorn, Umek, Sasha, Eric Prydz, John Digweed, Swedish House Mafia, and Above & Beyond, his sound encompasses a calculated, ever-variant blend of Techno, Tech House, Minimal, Progressive, and Electro. Alex has long been entranced by electronic dance music. At the age of 15 he spent his weekends at the local record stores thumbing through their modest dance music collections picking out whatever seemed interesting from Massive Attack to The Chemical Brothers to Armin van Buuren. His deep appreciation for all things Tech didn't begin until he entered college after toying around with his friend's laptop DJ controller, and discovered that House and Techno spoke to him like nothing else. After a number of half-baked attempts to get DJing started, including borrowing said controller 'indefinitely', he purchased his own laptop controller. A few house parties, a couple bar gigs, and some promo mixes later he realized that staring at a laptop screen was no way to interact with the crowd, and ditched the controller for a pair of cdj's and a mixer. Today, Alex runs a weekly hour-long podcast entitled Resonance, which includes a dedicated 'artist feature' segment. He also keeps to a schedule of one promo mix a month to showcase his ever-changing sound. 2011 marks the first full year that Alex will be working on DJing, and he also has begun to work on production projects.
