Anmu

Anmu is an emerging DJ and newcomer from Wuppertal who is carving out his own space in the electronic music scene with a versatile and contemporary house sound. His connection to electronic music goes back a long way: Alongside his work as an artist, he is also deeply involved in club culture as a music journalist, exploring its developments and the people who shape it. For Anmu, music is therefore not simply something you listen to — it is a cultural space where different influences, identities and stories come together. Musically, Anmu moves between different facets of house, consciously leaving room for a wide range of moods and energies. Driving grooves meet emotional moments, catchy vocals meet club-oriented sounds. His sound is not designed to fit neatly into a single genre. Instead, he is interested in bringing together the many influences that have shaped house and electronic music over the decades and allowing something uniquely his own to emerge from them. The queer history of club culture plays a particularly important role in this. House music is inseparably connected to queer communities, Black artists and marginalized communities who created spaces where freedom, self-expression and a sense of community could flourish. Anmu aims not only to reflect these roots musically in his sets, but also to make them visible and tangible. Queer vocals, influences from ballroom culture and a strong personal presence have become important elements of his sound. Anmu sees club music as a space where boundaries are allowed to blur — between genres, between everyday life and the night, between listening and dancing. His sets are designed to generate energy while also creating an atmosphere in which people can move freely and express themselves.
