Prior to releasing her first full-length, self-titled album, Ani has three striking EPs under her belt. Burn the Empire, her most recent, came out on Hyperboloid Records in 2020 after debuting at Berghain in 2019. A testament to her eclectic production capabilities, this genre-splicing seven-track EP gave us a glimpse of Ani’s new direction – one which has now been perfected on her self-titled 2022 album. Klang is set to release her eponymous record during her third international tour this July, hitting festivals and clubs across Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Belgium, and the United Kingdom. After graduating the prestigious Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music in 2017, Klang has been hard at work establishing her signature style of fiercely energetic, hybridized club music that continues to defy the bounds of genre placement. She was named a DJ to watch by Soundcloud in 2021, and has provided exclusive mixes for BBC Radio 6, Boiler Room, FACT, Inverted Audio, The Lot Radio, No Shade, Scramble.Korea, and more. She was even chosen as one of the 18 most promising rising stars by Berlin Music Commission’s annual “Listen to Berlin” panel in 2018! Now living in Berkeley, California, she has been hard at work running her monthly radio show ‘Klangxiety Attack’ on Reform Radio and writing about an emerging sub-genre of club music she’s deemed, ‘kickmusik.’
