Anh Phi was born in the suburbs of Paris raised by Vietnamese immigrant parents. He later moved to East-Asia, living in Saigon and Shanghai to reconnect with his roots, questioning notions of identity, paradigms and exoticism. He co-founded Saigon-born multidiscplinary collective & label Nhạc Gãy, known for their wild energetic raves and shaping a new emerging high-energy scene. The label released a debut compilation in 2021 showcasing local and diasporic Vietnamese artists, as well as Rắn Cạp Đuôi latest album "*1" earlier this year. Anh Phi’s DJ sets are ritualistic and cinematic, reflecting both his mother buddhist upbringings and filmmaking practices filled with cliffhangers and plot twists. Restless rave energies intertwine with experimental sounds, heavy percussions, polyrhythms, pop edits, field recordings and movie scores, at the intersection of East and West. He seeks to find peace within chaos and impernanence. He performed at Boiler Room Saigon, HÖR, All Shanghai, TAG. Chengdu, Zhaodai Beijing, Oil Shenzhen, Seoul Museum Of Art... He recorded mixes NTS Radio, i-D China, Mixmag Asia Radio, 88Rising Radio, V2X Radio... He is currently based in Berlin.
