Biografía
Born in Lipetsk, Russia—often dubbed the “Russian Detroit”—Andrew Shatnyy is a house music producer and DJ now based in Melbourne, Australia. His musical journey began at sixteen, drawing inspiration from artists like The Chemical Brothers, Norman Cook, and Lee Burridge.
In 2005, he released his debut LP, Mashrooms, characterized by tribal infusions and rich African percussion. Over time, Andrew’s sound evolved to incorporate electro house elements while maintaining his signature Spanish and African influences.
Between 2008 and 2015, he was deeply involved in the thriving house and techno scene of San Francisco and Oakland, promoting parties at some of SF’s top clubs. This period helped shape his eclectic style, blending tribal tech components with a distinct Soviet soul.
