Amina's journey into electronic music began in 2019 during a solo trip across Europe that changed everything. Stepping into Griessmuehle for the first time, a dark, pulsing club in Berlin—the raw energy, the hypnotic rhythm, the industrial heartbeat of the city drew her deeper. She found a sound that mirrored the intensity she always felt but had never been able to express. When returning to the UK in 2020, the world had changed. The pandemic hit, and like many, Amina found herself isolated and searching for connection. That’s when she discovered Len Faki’s online sets—gritty, atmospheric, and emotionally charged. It gave her permission to feel, to release, to process. For the first time, music wasn’t just something she listened to—it became therapy, a language for everything she couldn’t say out loud. As lockdowns lifted in 2021, Amina began exploring Manchester’s techno scene, going to events like Meat Free and Teletech often alone, unsure of what to find. What she discovered was a community: open, vibrant, and fiercely supportive. These were people who didn’t care where you came from, only that you showed up as your true self. In that space, she felt seen, she felt free and she fell completely in love with techno, not just as a sound, but as a culture. By 2023, Amina joined the team behind HØL Techno, working behind the scenes on Welfare and Artist Care at events across the North West. The following year Amina travelled to Chicago and Detroit to trace the roots of the music she loves. Meeting Underground Resistance and learning about techno’s origins as a voice of resistance and liberation was humbling. It gave the music even more meaning. It wasn’t just about sound anymore; it was about history, struggle, and the power of collective expression. Now, after years immersed in the scene, Amina brings all of that into every set she plays. She doesn't just want to make people dance, she wants to make them feel.
