“Dance-floor alchemist”, Amber Akilla mixes is highly sought after for her eclectic sets. She mixes and brews musical potions to create and excite every room she enters. No genre is off-limits whether she is mixing between Breaks, Techno, House, Hip-hop, Kpop or Pop, all that matters is that the energy flows as audiences are ushered into a unique and unforgettable sonic experience. Amber has supported internationally recognized artists including A$AP MOB, Rae Sremmurd, Desiigner, MØ, Aluna George, Brodinski, Mykki Blanco, Tokimonsta and Venus X. She has played across the Asian continent, from Tokyo, Seoul, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Taipei and Hong Kong. Her unique style and selection has led her to spin at art and fashion events for industry leaders and brands including Hermès, Gucci, Saint Laurent, Burberry, Nike and Takashi Murakami. Inspired by the ancient nushu women’s script from Southern China, in 2018 Amber co-founded “NVSHU 女术”, DJ workshop and creative project centred on celebrating the skills of women and the LGBTQI community. Amber's ability to adapt and create according to event needs has made her highly sought after for fashion, art and brand activations and productions. From playlist curation, fashion show music, sound design and of course after-party DJ-ing she enjoys the collaborative creative process in ensuring the needs of her client are met.
