Alex started DJing in the mid 90s and was soon running his own progressive house night called Hybrid whilst studying in Newcastle and was then playing the back-room at the legendary Arcane parties in the city. Upon returning to Manchester in the early noughties he deployed the more funky, 70s psyche side of his record collection at nights like All that Jazz and then had a residency at Citrus Bar on Albert Square. Work then took him to rural Japan and after meeting like-minded DJs and promoters he ended up playing at bars and clubs around Nagoya as well as at forest parties in the Japanese mountains. These days Alex can be found playing regularly at his own Kibosh nights but also makes guest appearances at other nights such as Club Solo, Psychedelic Discotech, and John Paynter's Psychic Graffiti nights at Outlaws in Leeds. The musical style is a product of all the proggy, chuggy and psychedelic influences that 30 years of digging for tunes has exposed him to. You might call it life affirming chug.
