Afturmath's love affair with synthesizers started in the 90's and developed into recording electronic music in 2001. His first release of experimental dub-ambient in 2003 charted a path of sonic exploration that continues today. While taking a break from releasing music in the late 2000's and early 2010's, he was evolving in technique and capability in the background before moving to NYC and starting Black Glass Records in 2018. He started sharing new music again on Soundcloud in 2015 and released his first album in 2019, "Analog Assay" - an exploration of analog synthesizers. His sound is ever-evolving along with his studio which now serves as the Black Glass Records main studio. After 5 years of Black Glass Records in NYC, Afturmath relocated himself and BGR to Amsterdam in 2023. He created Dam Lasers in 2023 for his laser show designs and Vactrol in 2025, an all-live audiovisual electronic music event series.
