Ángel García A.K.A. Acid Hero [ Madrid ] --- Ángel García is a DJ and musical artist by pure vocation, with more than three decades of an ever-evolving career. His passion for music and constant drive to innovate have kept him at the forefront without signs of stagnation. From his first vinyl records—artists such as Grace Jones and 808 State acquired in his early teens—his career has been an unceasing pursuit of sounds and sensations. His public debut came in 1992, when the legendary Hanoi club invited him to become a resident DJ. This first residency shaped sessions infused with influences from Chicago Acid House and the then-emerging American Deep House developed in New York and Miami. By the mid-1990s, his name was firmly established among Madrid’s most representative DJs through Bocaccio After Hours, an iconic session regarded as the city’s leading morning party thanks to its sound quality, strong visual identity, and unique atmosphere. In 1995 he became resident DJ and promoter of the morning session Midday Sunday Parties. Over its four-year lifespan, the event played a key role in shaping a new generation eager to absorb electronic rhythms and sounds at a time when the scene was far less defined than it is today. Midday introduced a different “after-hours” concept, making a decisive contribution to the evolution of dance music toward more forward-thinking sounds, ranging from House and Chicago Acid House to Detroit Techno. This impact was driven by a carefully curated lineup that brought national and international electronic music figures to Madrid, including Herbert, Acquaviva, Swag, and Ralph Lawson. During this period, his musical focus turned to the British, German, and Dutch scenes of the mid-1990s, as well as developments on the west coast of the United States. By the end of the decade, he crossed the Atlantic again to immerse himself in the San Francisco and Los Angeles scenes, key hubs in the evolution of his musical style. In 1999 he launched his most personal and enduring project, The Room Club, active until 2012 and an essential reference in Madrid’s nightlife. Through The Room, he strengthened his role as promoter and artistic director, leading a session that evolved consistently while maintaining its identity and coherence. Artists of international stature such as Dixon, Âme, DJ Deep, Oscar Mulero, Tom Middleton, Kruder & Dorfmeister, Todd Terje, Solomun, Marcel Dettmann, and Stacey Pullen, among others, passed through its booth. His career has taken him beyond Spain, performing in cities including Copenhagen, Algarve, Porto, Kassel, Palermo, Lisbon, Paris, Liverpool, and Dubai. He has been a resident at Pacha Mallorca and has participated in events and festivals such as Copenhagen Fashion Week, Art Futura, Urban Party, Fimes, REC, and Festimad. He also directed the programming of the first editions of the Rave del Mercado de Fuencarral in Madrid. His sets are defined by a progressive and harmonious flow, where each mix unfolds with precision and impact, keeping the rhythm alive and the energy high without losing depth. With clear roots in American House, his style now points toward cutting-edge electronic music produced in Europe and the United States. Free from stylistic constraints, Ángel García creates sonic journeys and deep atmospheres that balance sensuality, intensity, and movement in response to each space and dancefloor. Since 2025, he has been part of the Sala Villanos team as Artistic and Musical Director of Club Villanos, where he leads the definition of the sonic concept, artist programming, and the construction of a coherent, contemporary club identity. His work focuses on consolidating a current electronic music proposal with curatorial rigor, long-term vision, and strategic alignment with the venue’s cultural positioning.
