In short - Aaron Paar remains at the cutting edge of diverse music cultures within the Soul spectrum. In 1995, he established his label, Worldship Music, and the following year, he formed the Teflon Dons with Dave Fogg and Greg "Ski" Royal, producing seven 12" singles along with various remixes and tracks for other labels. Since the relaunch of Worldship Music in 2019 Aaron has released another 10 releases on the imprint. Throughout the years, Paar has held numerous residencies in LA, including Bounce Rock Skate, Fast Fwd, Blazing 45's, JumpNFunk, Black Gold, HOUSE ON WAX, and Free Yourself. His presence at countless clubs and bars has solidified his status in the LA DJ community, allowing him to share his unique musical perspective with a new generation of partygoers. In recent years, Aaron has toured across the U.S., performing at venues like Dante’s Hi-Fi in Miami, Smartbar & Podlasie Club in Chicago for QUEEN!, the Charivari festival, and Motor City Wine in Detroit. He’s also played at various spots in Brooklyn, NY, including Public Records, Black Flamingo, C'mon Everybody, and the Bowery for Mobile Mondays in the Lower East Side. He hosts the prominent Stomping Grounds Radio on LA's Dublab Radio, airing every 2nd and 4th Monday from 8 to 10 PM. Longer form - Aaron Paar was born in Nottingham, England and emigrated to Los Angeles in 1980. Aaron has been an active figure in the Los Angeles DJ, underground club and recording scene since the early 90's. With a family music background as well as strong underground club roots in the LA community. Aaron continues to stay at the forefront of cutting edge music cultures across many styles within the Soul spectrum. Aaron fell in Love with Hip Hop and the art of DJ'ing in 1984 and never looked back. He got his start spinning during the early 90′s rave/loft scene in LA while also hosting a House Music show on KXLU Radio called Stomping Grounds. While working at Beat Non Stop records in 1993 he also was able to sell his personal mix tapes to people around the world via the store. Fueled by the records and sounds of a very potent House Music sound, Aaron decided to take his own adventure into production and created his imprint Worldship Music in 1995 and in 1996 formed the Teflon Dons along with Dave Fogg and Greg "ski" Royal. producing seven 12" Singles along the way with various remixes and tracks for other labels. Early in 2019 the label has been relaunched with 3 new vinyl releases starting with a 7'' reissue of "Tomorrow People" Featuring Gregory Porter, The long awaited "LA Housin' Authority EP”, "The Pur Royale Project”, “Teflon Dons Vs. the Si-Fan”, 7’’/45 “Afro-LaTeena” The Rudiments 45, Roberta “Brooklyn Ave Sessions” 12”, Herald Traccs Vol. 1 in 2022 continuing with a few reissue 12”s and new works from Erik Rico presents the 53rd st Quintet and Herald Traccs Vol 2. Around 2002 Aaron decided to come up with an alias which ended up taking a life of its own as DJ Destroyer. The focus was on spinning sets that were based heavily in Hip Hop & Beats mixed with other genres. Aaron joined Mash Up pioneers the Inhumanz and took blending sounds and genres seamlessly in clubs and bars around the globe. DJ Aaron Paar was founder and chief resident of Strictly Social, one of LA's longest running and premier eclectic Soul nights. Strictly Social has brought independent artists such as Sa Ra, Lisa Shaw, Sy Smith, Zo!, Joi, and Sango to name a few while taking it to other cities such as NY, Atlanta and SF. Residencies over the years such as Bounce Rock Skate, Fast Fwd, Blazing 45's, LA's JumpNFunk, Black Gold as well as nights at countless clubs and bars across the city has cemented Aaron’s solid footing in the LA DJ community expressing his unique perspective of music to a new generation of party people. Aaron has DJ'd alongside the likes of DJ Scratch, Kenny Dope, Rich Medina, J Rocc, Dam Funk, Lefto, Wayne Williams and Shinehead to name a few as well as collaborating with many in the Los Angeles underground DJ scene. Aaron is also a member of the highly respected DJ collective Umoja Hi-Fi Soundsystem who continue to spread the Sound of Unity throughout the LA landscape hosting and guesting at various functions. Stomping Grounds has recently been resurrected by Aaron at Dublab.com Radio every 2nd and 4th Mondays from 8-10pm.
