Biografía
9MAGICFOREVER1 grew up in Chicago, immersed in the city’s diverse musical landscape from an early age, absorbing the sounds of blues, jazz, house, ghetto house, and juke. Raised in an environment where avant-garde and experimental music flourished, the artistry of 9MAGICFOREVER1 was further shaped by Midwest influences like Detroit techno, ghetto-tech, and the city’s deep house roots. This eclectic upbringing forms the foundation of a sound that seamlessly blends Chicago’s juke and footwork with global electronic influences.
In addition to the Midwest’s musical heritage, Magic draws inspiration from Afro-Caribbean genres such as reggae, dub, jungle, and Afro-house, cultivating a cross-continental sonic identity. A dedication to Black electronic music and Afro-diasporic rhythms is at the core of every performance and production.
After years of honing skills within Chicago’s underground scene and traveling globally as a musician, 9MAGICFOREVER1 gained widespread recognition in 2024 with the release of the "LIKE U JUKE REMIX." The track, featured at Boiler Room by HiTech in Millennium Park, sparked the viral Like U Juke Remix Footwork Challenge, capturing the attention of dancers, DJs, and electronic music fans around the world.
With a vision to elevate the legacy of Chicago’s juke and footwork, 9MAGICFOREVER1 remains dedicated to pushing the boundaries of underground music. As a DJ, producer, and curator, this artist seeks to make a lasting impact on the global music scene, championing Black electronic music. The upcoming project, FOREVER JUKE VOL.1 EP, is only the beginning, with plans for live performances, international tours, and further creative projects through a clothing brand and record label.
