Born in Atlanta and raised in DC, Jelani has been connecting to the pulse of Los Angeles with his warehouse techno and electronic grooves. For over a decade, the Jelani has been delivering an intermixture of classic Detroit style techno and today's modern club music. Jelani has also submerged into the modular synthesis universe using his eurorack system to offer our ears an expedition to the next evolution of sound. Beginning his career at just 16 and armed with the equipment handed down from his Father and his Mother’s expertise as a radio DJ, Jelani forged his own path starting at U Street Music Hall and The 9:30 Club Backbar. Most notably working under U Street Music Hall and T&A Records co-founder, DJ Tittsworth. Jelani offers the audible inspiration to collaborate the past, present, and future through his music. From his use of rhythms and patterns found in monolithic circles to his field recordings of daily life in Los Angeles, Jelani creates a multifaceted and original sound. Jelani’s music is a sonic portal that allows you to access all points in history as you fly through space with a driving techno bassline.
