Over the years Mattia Prete has refined his experience in electronic music territories, often techno-oriented, which led him to perform as a DJ in internationally renowned clubs, and to appear in collaborations with artists he loves and respects. Daniel Calvi, on the other hand, is a transversal musician in constant movement in research on sound as well as a composer of music for contemporary dance or images. As a member of the Chat Noir project, Daniel had the opportunity to collaborate with the famous Norwegian trumpeter Nils Petter Molvaer, and to perform on overseas tours, such as the JIM festival in China. Their different artistic paths and backgrounds are the key point of the project as they push the creativity of the duo in multifaceted musical scenarios, exploring sounds ranging from Jazz to electronic, reaching futuristic moods of techno, ambient, and sometimes even hip hop. Furthermore, the collaborations with other musicians, encourage the duo to become a real ensemble; one of that is the feature with the German saxophonist Leonie Freudenberger, who adds a touch of elegance to the performance. The name "505" is taken from the number of their studio located in the east of Berlin, where the duo regularly performs to bring their productions to life.
