3rdCrush has been simmering under the surface of Glasgow’s electronic music landscape of late, solidifying a name for himself as a DIY scene staple, and building momentum as a considerable force of alternative, experimental techno. He has recently been found playing gigs across Scotland for some of the scene’s most respected parties, including Glasgow's legendary Animal Farm, the gritty, artist-run EXIT CLUB, and at a range of anti-commercial free parties and raves. Through this, along with his work as manager of Glasgow’s Subcity Radio, on which he plays his 4-hour “Supertouch” show, 3rdCrush sets an example of the young and forward-thinking talent being developed in Glasgow. Described by local legend Kabay as “Glasgow’s hidden gem”, 3rdCrush’s style treads the line between machinist precision and tactful musicality, delivering a synthesis to the dancefloor that is simultaneously packed with rhythmic intensity, and fluid, layered danceability. This is conveyed through hardgroove, hypnotic, and experimental 90s techno, wrapped up with unpredictable explorations into IDM, breakcore, cloud rap, punk, ambient, and grime, that test the boundaries of techno conventionality.
